Man Charged With Abusing Baby, Filming It

An Aurora man was being held without bond Thursday after authorities said he sexually abused an infant, photographed what he was doing with a digital camera and stored it on his computer—along with 3,000 to 4,000 other images of child pornography.

Paul T. Cieslowski, 28, of the 2000 block of Tall Oaks Drive, was charged both in state and federal court Thursday.

DuPage County State’s Attorney Joseph Birkett said the alleged conduct “is perhaps the sickest I have seen in my 20 years in law enforcement.

“If he is convicted, we will do all in our power to make sure that he never has the opportunity to prey on another child.”

In DuPage County, Cieslowski was charged with predatory criminal sexual assault of a child.

In federal court, he was charged with having child pornography on computer discs and engaging in sexually explicit conduct with a minor to produce an image.

The victim was not identified.

Authorities said the investigation of Cieslowski began last October when investigators began looking into a person with a screen name “blkhand” who prowled Internet chat rooms devoted to the subject of child sex.
